I have a new collection of songs I’ll be releasing on House of Mercy Recordings March 28. (Thanks to Jim Larson [no relation] for the cover art.)
There will be a CD release show on March 28 at the Amsterdam Bar and Hall in downtown St. Paul. A bunch of friends will join me, including the following:
The Blood-Washed Band, which is the house band for House of Mercy church in St. Paul, which was started by good friends of mine (including my neighbor Debbie Blue and long-time inspiration Russell Rathbun). The Blood-Washed Band is led by Page Burkum, half of the acclaimed Cactus Blossoms.
Jon Rodine, one of my oldest friends, a great local songwriter and interpreter of American roots music.
Quillan Roe of the Roe Family Singers. Quillan was nice enough to play bass and sing some harmonies on the CD.
Pocahontas County, a great Twin Cities bluegrass band that includes Jake Hyer, who collaborates in all kinds of acts around town, including Martin Devaney. Jake also played fiddle and mandolin on the CD.
