Morning in America (and beyond)

I was thinking last night as I was driving home after 2 a.m. that I’ve never really liked the president until now.

I don’t remember Johnson, but I do remember the 68 election when Humphrey lost to Nixon, and my dad’s disappointment. My dad’s views influenced mine throughout my childhood, and he was no big fan of Carter and couldn’t stand Reagan. Then it was Bush, then Clinton, who never did a lot for me. I don’t think I ever watched a Clinton speech from beginning to end, and I only voted for him once.

Then it was Bush, of course.

I like the president. Strange feeling.
