Monday night is always a little nerve-racking. You put the paper out and wait for it to come back, hoping there are no big mistakes.
This Monday’s is a little more nerve-racking than usual, for a few reasons. Mainly, a lot of the paper has been redesigned, with new page sizes, headline fonts, etc.
Second, we published a followup story on the undersheriff losing his gun, which probably won’t make him or the sheriff too happy. In addition, I wrote my column about it, which might feel like adding insult to injury, but I think was a pretty balanced look at it. We’ll see how they take it.
Ah, the joys of the newspaper biz. We have to get personal with people, which means they get personal with us. The sheriff generally takes things pretty well, but you never know.
