Diane Gibas wrote a nice column the other day about taking a walk in the woods on Thanksgiving night.
I guess that inspired me to do the same, so Diane (my Diane) and I went out this evening during the first big snowfall of the year. There were 5 or 6 inches on the ground, so we were trudging along, but the hard work was worth it. The light in the woods on a cloudy night, with snow on the ground, is beautiful. I don’t know where all that light comes from when you have such thick cloud cover, but it’s easy to see the trail. Lucy the dog came along, too.
I recommend it.
Went in to the office this morning to work on the budget story for next week. And get caught up on some other things that have been hanging over my head. The drive home between Isle and 169 was pretty bad, but the highway wasn’t too bad. That was at about 1 p.m. I stopped and talked to some ice anglers coming off Cove Bay. They had about 22 perch.
